When I’m a bit hungry, I always like to grab a sandwich from “Tonkatsu MAiSEN.” Born in 1965, tonkatsu (Japanese pork cutlet) shop MAiSEN has been selling tender tonkatsu that can be cut easily with chopsticks. And recently, MAiSEN has released their new sandwich “Cheese Menchi-katsu Sandwich”!

Inside the juicy menchi-katsu (pork cutlet using ground meat) is camembert cheese. The rich, mellow flavor of camembert cheese matches well with the ground pork, creating a tasty yet mild flavor. The slightly sweet tonkatsu sauce gives a great accent to the sandwich too! Of course it’s delicious at room temperature, but if you to bring it up to the next level, warm it up in a microwave and let the cheese melt nicely.
