Goldfish have long been a summer tradition in Japan because of their cool appearance of swimming in the pond. In Japan, traditional sweets in goldfish designs starts appearing at shops around June.

Here is Goldfish Jelly (金魚ゼリー) which I look forward to every year from Minamoto Kitchoan, a Japanese traditional confectionery shop. It depicts goldfish swimming in a clear pond with juicy muscat jelly and goldfish made from yokan (Japanese thick jelly). Refreshing and jiggly!

Goldfish Jelly: 292 yen each (incl. tax)

*Available until mid-AUG.
