Kushimoto Tour in Wakayama ~Energize local communities through tourism~
- Campaign Introduction
- Connect, touch, learn, "Kushimoto Experience Tour" is now being held!
The town of Kushimoto offers tours that allow visitors to experience the nature, learn about the history of Nanki-Kushimoto, and feel the warm community through interactions with locals and guides.
Welcome to this adventure town where history and nature interweave!
Kushimoto Town in Wakayama Prefecture is located at the southernmost tip of Honshu, Japan, and is the only subtropical area in Honshu.
The area is known for its rich history such as the World Heritage Site "Kumano Kodo Trail" and its rich ocean, the northernmost coral colony in the world, which is registered under the Ramsar Convention. The area also has oddly shaped rocks called Hashigui-iwa Rocks, a national natural treasure.
Not only Japanese but also more international travelers have been visiting the area in recent years.
Make the local community even better through tourism
Kushimoto Town is promoting a regenerative tourism initiative to "improve the environment, society, and economy" by welcoming tourists, which leads to environmental protection, preservation of cultural heritages, and creation of more working opportunities.
By conveying the charm of local resources to as many people as possible and developing tourism industry that will be passed on to future generations, we aim to create a "better" global environment in harmony with humans and nature.
