Maruya Hatcho Miso was founded in 1337 (Engen 2), it is locate a distance of 8 cho (in Japanese, about 870 m) west of Okazaki Castle, located on the Tokaido route. Starting out in the brewing industry, they stay faithful to the flavor and traditional techniques of "Hatcho Miso" production, beginning in the Edo period and continues to carve its history until this day.
