【Kochi Festival】　

The 「Kochi Festival」 honors Kochi Island—situated in the Kozagawa River—as the sacred object of worship for Kochi Shrine.

The sight of the elaborately decorated boats gliding across the water is truly spectacular!

Designated as a National Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property, this renowned festival is a vibrant blend of history and spirited energy.

Why not spend this summer enjoying the pleasant river breeze of the Kozagawa River while immersing yourself in a tradition that dates back to the triumphant return of the Kumano Navy?

The main festival will be held on Sunday, July 26, at the Koza Fishing Port Plaza at the mouth of the Koza River. Enjoy performances by local dance teams and folk dance groups, a concert by the Kushimoto Koza High School Brass Band, and, of course, food stalls!
