Japanese absolutely LOVE bread! There's no doubt that our food culture is rice-based, but still, bread has been in a huge boom in Japan for over a decade! So many bread shops have been opening and whenever there's a big bread event, bread fans rush to the event. Although bread is an import from the West, it has evolved in the Japanese way over time.

Keio Bread Festival will be held from FEB 10 (THU) at out Shinjuku Store 7F Event Space! Some look mouth-watering and some look too adorable to eat!

[Nihonbashi Kayabacho/IMANO FRUITS FACTORY]
(left) Amaou Strawberry Sandwiches: 1,080 yen per pack

Japanese dessert sandwiches using seasonal fruits! Made by a fruits specialty shop of Nihonbashi Kayabacho established in 1952.

"Coppen pan/コッペパン" (Japanese-style hot dog bun with fillings) from a popular coppe pan specialty shop. Both "savory type" and "dessert type" are popular thanks to their fluffy bun and original recipe of the filling.　

[Ikebukuro/PONDE-COFFEE]
Ponde: 108 yen per piece
(Flavors: original, chocolate & chocolate, green tea, strawberry)
Bite-size, gluten-free bread handmade with tapioca flour. Chewy texture!

[NEKO NEKO SHOKUPAN]
Original: 650 yen per loaf
Classical white bread baked with only milk rather than water. Moist, chewy texture with rich flavor.

Pink Panther: 1,000 yen per loaf

[Kamakura City/khanompang]
(left) Banana Bread evo.V: 378 yen per slice
Rolled coconut dough filled with paste made with banana, cinnamon, and maple syrup.
(right) Brownie with 3 kids of Nuts & Apricot: 648 yen per slice
Brownie using 3 kinds of nuts and apricots preserved in rum. Baked slowly for 3 hours at low temperature.
