The roadside station "Seishuno Sato" is a famous building once belonged to the surgeon Hanaoka_Seishu in the Edo period.
In 1804, Hanaoka_Seishu succeeded in breast cancer removal surgery using general anesthesia in the world for the first time. You can visit Shunrinken which was his residence and clinic.
The "Healthy Hospitality Buffet" which uses plenty local fresh vegetables which are popular, terrace seat is also recommended in good weather.
The "Shiunko Cream" designed by Seishu is recommended. It is effective for skin troubles such as trauma, burns and chapped skin, and it is only available here. Other regional specialties are also recommended for souvenirs.
In the New Year season, the "Nanakusagayu Festival" is being held and in autumn the "Seishu Festival" is being held.
