Our store has been carrying on business from the foundation in Tempo Era (1830 - 1843), and the current owner is in the 9th generation. At that time the store was called Yamatoya Yamatoya Shobei representing Yamatoya, but in the Meiji Era it was renamed to "Kyosendo".
It is located close to Sanjo Ohashi bridge near the last stop of old Tokaido road and supplies purveyors from Myoshin-ji, Chion-in, Nanzen-ji and another main temples of religious sects with fan for temples. As long as there are a lot of local tourists and travelers came from far regions, fan has become an item that is being used in dances, tea ceremony and as ordinary fan. Original summer fan "Rakufu Sensu" is the famous product of our store with popular design and good reception from customers.
