A banner flag showing “the arrival of fresh tealeaves” stands in front of a teahouse in this season. I hear that fresh tealeaves are very special for Japanese. I wonder why the tea attracts them so much? While thinking of such things, I smelled nice aroma of tea as I walked along a shopping street.

“ Have some tea if you like!”

Mr. Shiobara of Yamaneen teahouse offered me a cup of tea!

Humm.. It is very mild and delicious. Thank you!

There are many kinds of tea showing “fresh tealeaves” in the shop. I asked Mr. Shiobara the “charm of fresh tealeaves”.

Tealeaves are picked in spring, summer and fall, three times a year. Fresh tealeaves are also called “ichiban cha”, the first tea, that is picked in April and May.

It is said that the quality of fresh tealeaves is the best when it comes to its taste and aroma.

The tealeaves are very soft….

Especially, the aroma is excellent, which is “youthful and refreshing.”

What a nice aroma! The taste is not bitter. Instead, it is very mild.I hear that it has a relaxation effect.

Well, what should I buy ?

It is recommended for people who love tea. It has a commanding and imperious taste.

Others:Other than green tea, there are many other tea selections. I hear that black soybean tea is popular among people from Taiwan.
