- Recommended activity and gourmet at the sites where scenes with rich nature and history remain
The area is rich in nature such as "Bantaisan", the symbol of Fukushima, with its beautiful shape as well as "Inawashiroko", the Japan's 4th largest lake. There are many historical sites like castle and post-town, and there are also some blooming spots on spring, which reminds of the original landscapes of Japan.

Experience towering gigantic icicles very close!
”Banseitairo Snowshoes” is a trek of about an hour on the ancient national route "Banseitairo" in the snow wearing snow shoes. Especially the icicles in the ruin tunnel "Futatsugoya Tunnel" are spectacular. These dynamic gigantic icicles are made from water that came from the collapsed part of the tunnel. The scene of the flash shining from the gap of the icicles is fantastical. The activity is held every year from the end of January to early March.

Disc-shaped gyoza -- Let's drink with gyoza in a shape like a disc
Gyoza in Fukushima City is famous with the "disc-shaped gyoza", small gyozas in the shape of disc.
The original shape is a disc because it is cooked on a frying pan. When cooking more oil is used to fry a little, which is also a characteristic of disc-shaped gyoza. In Fukushima City there are many famous restaurants of disc-shaped gyoza, and many of them are open from evening to night. People of this hometown love eating as "a snack for beer after work" which is a basic style.

Thin-skinned manju -- A classic item of Fukushima by the traditional sweets shop in Koriyama
”Thin-skinned manju” is a flagship item of "Kashiwaya", traditional sweets maker that has more than 170 years of history since its foundation.
"Manju" used to be known as whole sweet bean paste covered by a thick skin. Therefore, it is said that a thin-skinned manju with sweet bean paste with thin skin created a reputation due to its rarity, and became a specialty of the local area.
Nowadays in addition to thin-skinned manju, other various items are available such as a cheese tart with lemon flavor "Lemo".
