By private car Approx. 60 min. through Kainanhigashi IC on the Hanwa Expressway (national highway N.370) * Please drive carefully because, from the base of the mountain to the observatory, the road becomes narrow. By Taxi（from JR Kainan Station） From the west entrance of JR Kainan Station. Fee is around 7000 yen（daytime / small-sized car）

「MISATO Astronomical Observatory」is known as the beautiful city of starry sky.
At the observatory which is equipped with a Cassegrain reflecting telescope with the largest aperture 105cm F/8 of the Wakayama Prefecture, you can really look at the stars through the telescope during the "Starry Sky Tour (observation meeting)", a day when the stars illustrated by the researchers are clearly visible
Satisfying the two conditions of a dark night sky and a large aperture, it is possible to beautifully admire above all nebulas and star clusters.
The panoramic view at 360° from the observation deck is the best part, and it has been elected in the "TOP 100 sunrises and sunsets"

・Starry Sky Tour (observation meeting)
Thursday / Sunday from 7:30 pm; Friday / Saturday from 7:30 pm and from 8:30 pm
Reservations are required only for group visits
Only during daytime operating hours field trips will be accepted.

・Planetarium「Dream Space room」
Enjoy comfortably the starry sky, listening to stories about the seasonal constellations or the Milky Way.
Regular shows during daytime on Saturday / Sunday / Holidays, and projection at "Starry Sky Tour (observation meeting)" in case of bad weather.

In addition you can also enjoy the「Astronomy Classroom」or the 「House of Stars」where there are exhibitions about stars and space.
