Sapporo Nagoya Brewery constructed in 1926 and in 1931 reception office started its business and it was the origin of "Koyoen". In 1971 Shinden-zukuri (manner of Heian era palatial architecture) 2-story building with 400 seats was opened after renewal. There is 2640 ㎡ garden with growing thick zelkova and camphor trees, beerhall with waterfall and meandering stream. Koyoen was well known as one of the 3 biggest parks in Nagoya along with Shofukaku and Hasshoukan. The name "Koyoen" originates from so called 17,000 ㎡ famous garden Koyoen at Sumidagawa river side in the time of 11th shogun Ienari in Bunka and Bunsei eras (1781～1837). In 1906 Dainippon Biru Co. was used as as a reception of Azumabashi Factory being the part of it. As a connection to this famous park, it is told that Nagoya Factory Facility obtained the name "Koyoen". In addition, the words "To keep a broadminded spirit" representing the meaning were taken from Mencius book, and it is told that it implies "The origin of power of the Universe".
