The Takamatsu city center includes a 470 meter shopping district that runs north-south. It is one of Japan's largest arcade structures which is about 2.7 km long.
The redevelopment was led by not only the private sector in Japan, but also South Korea and other countries as well.
Benches and tiles were designed by international artist, Takeshi Kawashima giving it a contemporary feel. In the northern dome on the weekends, various events are held.
