　「Koyasan」, a sacred site and World Heritage Site, is a popular tourist destination in Wakayama Prefecture, attracting many visitors from abroad. A new sightseeing train, 「GRAN TENKU」 has been launched, connecting Koyasan from Nankai Namba Station in approximately 90 minutes. We want to offer a special journey with a tranquil atmosphere and heartfelt hospitality—this sentiment is reflected in the train's exterior and interior designs, which feature motifs of local specialties, traditional crafts, and plants from along the route. Onboard, you can enjoy a variety of meals featuring local ingredients, creating a relaxing and enjoyable experience.

■Comfort on board①・・・「Grand Seat/Grand Seat Plus」 (Car No. 4) where you can also enjoy meals

　Cars No. 3 and 4 feature a dignified and tranquil design reminiscent of the lobby lounge of an urban high-class hotel. Car No.4, in particular, boasts a special space for relaxation with only 16 sofa seats. In this car, you can enjoy three different menus—breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea—curated by Chef Motokawa of the traditional Western-style restaurant ‘Genji’, which showcase the finest local produce from along the railway line. ※Advance booking is required for meals.

　Car No. 1 and 2 have been designed with distinct concepts, offering spaces that cater to a variety of needs. A key feature is the visually appealing design that allows passengers to enjoy the traditions, culture, and natural beauty of the areas along the route. Car No.1 is equipped with 24 reclining seats, offering a spacious and comfortable seating experience. Car No. 2 has seats facing the windows, allowing passengers to fully enjoy the scenery, from urban areas to mountainous regions, while enjoying a relaxing journey.

▲「Okamochi」 is filled with 12 kinds of creative cuisine.

　The lunch menu features 12 creative dishes made with abundant local ingredients from southern Osaka and Wakayama. The set includes 12 small dishes, such as domestically produced roast beef, white sesame tofu, and marinated grilled local vegetables, all carefully prepared by skilled chefs, served in a bento box, along with seasonal mixed rice and chilled earthenware pot soup.

　This set features a variety of desserts and savory items, showcasing local ingredients and seasonal fruits. It includes six desserts such as a pudding made with Beni Nanko plums and fresh sansho pepper, butter sandwiches and dolce cookies, and a seasonal fruit tart, along with three savory items.

　Sweets from 「GENJI BAKE,」 a takeout brand run by Chef Motokawa, who supervises the meals in car No. 4, are also available. There are two types: butter sandwiches and cookies, and they are offered in special packaging featuring the 「GRAN TENKU」 design.

　You can write your wish on a feather of a bird of paradise and offer it at Gokurakubashi Station. The feathers that are offered are burned in a fire at the 「Koya Fire Festival」 held every March.
