■Tokyo New Shop Open: Allbirds, a U.S.-based shoe brand committed to SDGs, opens a store on Marunouchi Nakadori Avenue in Tokyo's business district

　Allbirds was founded in 2016 by Tim Brown, a professional soccer player from New Zealand, with Joey Zwillinger, an expert in the field of renewable energy, after much research and experimentation, focusing on the unique properties of merino wool.

The use of natural materials such as fluffy merino wool and breathable eucalyptus, as well as the recycling of plastic bottles, have made it an environmentally friendly brand.

With the message that we want people to be more interested in the movement to realize a sustainable society, we decided to open a store in a business district where there is a high level of interest in the SDGs.

Our first recommendation would be shoes... light and comfortable!

The process of making shoes is complex, but we have done a lot of research and developed sustainable shoes with low environmental impact.

The simple design, the texture of natural materials, and the comfort of being cool in summer and warm and light in winter are all realized.

Some of our staff can speak English, Chinese, and Korean. When you come to the store, we hope that you will enjoy not only experiencing our products but also communicating with our staff members about other things as well.

In the future, staff members are planning to go for a run at the Imperial Palace near the store, as well as hold seminars and workshops in the store.
