EDWIN, a company that has been manufacturing well-regarded jeans with a commitment to products made in Japan, has opened a concept store in Kyoto. While the company does have stores overseas as well, this particular store offers jeans and other products that are only available here. The store is noteworthy not only for its products, but the interior design in the style of a Kyoto traditional townhouse also garners attention.

Let's explore the store!
■The concept store offers a wide selection of jeans and jackets, with more than 50 unique styles available.

The jeans at the concept shop are distinguished by the use of fabric made from a blend of rare Japanese cotton, which has been cultivated here since the Edo period. These jeans are sewn at Edwin's domestic factory, resulting in high-value-added jeans centered around the concept of "Made in Japan."

■Jeans you can only purchase here... This limited-edition pair of jeans "EDS" is made in Japan, with unparalleled attention to detail. 18,700 yen (all prices henceforth include tax).

Selvedge jeans are the only in the world to utilize rainbow colors. You can also enjoy your own style of color fading, as it fades over time. They are available in a wide range of styles, with sizes ranging from 28" to 38", in three different shapes: regular straight, slim tapered, and regular tapered.

■Denim you can only purchase here...the popular "Denim Hanten," available only at the Kyoto store. 33,000 yen

"Hanten" was the uniform of choice for common people in Japan when working. This product combines denim workwear elements to ensure people will appreciate the quality of the jeans and Japanese culture. This product is available in sizes M and L and in two color choices: one-wash and used.

■Denim only available here・・・The Tombo jacket, featuring a lucky dragonfly pattern, is priced at 35,200 yen.

This 100% cotton denim jacket is made with a jacquard weave and features an original dragonfly pattern. Dragonflies have the unique habit of flying only forward. In Japan, dragonflies were considered lucky and were loved by warlords. They were used as motifs on armor and helmets. We wish you happiness in Japan as well!

The interior design is filled with ancient Japanese culture in every detail.

The atmosphere is undeniably relaxed, evoking the essence of Japanese houses and culture from the entrance to the interior of the store. The waist wall of the machiya-style façade is jeans blue, and a lantern with a picture of jeans hangs as an icon. The interior design is impressively well thought out, with attention to detail throughout.

■A message to guests visiting Japan
EDWIN has been making jeans for over 60 years, and we hope you'll enjoy Japanese denim products. We invite you to pick up and try on our products at our new concept store. We would be thrilled if you could experience not only the denim, but also the beauty of Japanese culture that is incorporated into the interior design.
