For the first time in Japan! "GUCCI COSMOS" on exhibit at Kyoto City Kyocera Museum of Art

In commemoration of Gucci's 60-year anniversary of arrival in Japan, the exhibit "GUCCI COSMOS" will be held at the Kyoto City Kyocera Museum of Art from 1 October 2024. The "GUCCI COSMOS" exhibition unravels the brand's over 100-year long history up to the modern day. A joint effort between the sister cities of Kyoto and Firenze, the exhibit shines a light on Gucci's history of innovation and creative tradition, while also showing respect to Japan.

As the brand approaches the 60th anniversary of the official introduction of Gucci products in Japan, they are launching a variety of projects and events to express their gratitude to the Japanese people, as well as their strong wish to further nourish and grow their relationship with Japan.
"Gucci Cosmos” will culminate on October 1 at the Kyoto Kyocera Museum of Art in the Okazaki area of Kyoto, the oldest surviving public art museum in Japan, and will blend with Kyoto's rich cultural background to provide visitors with an extraordinary experience that will live on for years to come.

"GUCCI COSMOS" is a major international touring exhibition that presents Gucci's history of innovation and creative traditions in an immersive exhibition that traces a spiral through time. Opening the doors of the archives in Florence, the exhibition explores the evolution of iconic designs and items from Gucci's history. Following on the heels of the Shanghai and London exhibitions, the Kyoto exhibition will incorporate the unique perspectives of its host city, Japan, and Kyoto, and will include objects from the Kyoto Kyocera Museum of Art alongside Gucci's archives. The exhibition will embody the Gucci Cosmos, a universe of endless creative dialogue that transcends the boundaries of time, country, and culture.
