Kento Araki 荒木健太郎 (@arakencloud) is a researcher at the Meteorological Research Institute of Japan, where he studies the mechanism of cloud formations and their impact on meteorological disasters.

On November 8th, he posted a series of images on his Twitter account along with an urgent plea to the general public:

"With special permission from the museum which was forced to shut down permanently this June due to Covid-19, I was able to go visit the Snow Crystal Museum (in Asahikawa, Hokkaido) to do research on this place and spread the word about this beautiful museum in hopes that this will lead to its reopening. Their wedding hall is beyond a doubt a masterpiece, and there are many research materials on snow crystals available at this museum."

"Snow Crystal Museum is best known for all there is to know about the beauty of snow. There are about 200 microphotographs of snow flake crystals displayed in stained glass on the wall all the way from the ceiling. You can explore this beautiful space surrounded by natural works of art."
