40th Anniversary Celebration of a famous Japanese chocolate shop 【OGGI】

OGGI is a famous chocolate brand in Japan. To celebrate its 40th anniversary, OGGI released limited edition shortcakes at their head store in Meguro. I visited their cake factory and saw how they baked and decorated this special shortcake.

Before entering their factory, I tasted OGGI’s best-seller sweets “Chocolade Chocola” and “Orange peel chocolate”.

“Chocolade Chocola.” is the hot seller for OGGI. It is a thick and creamy chocolate cake with a texture like that of a ganache. The manger told us that the secret to the good taste was that it was only made with fresh and high quality ingredients.（Tip: It tastes much better if you cool it in the refrigerator.）

In Japan, OGGI is also known as a shop with delicious orange peel chocolate. Dark chocolate and oranges, two great tastes that go together!! There is a secret behind its soft orange peel. It takes five days to boil a whole orange. That’s why its orange peel has no bitterness but a rather fresh, melt-in-the-mouth feeling.
