The Cantina

Located on the western edge of the Yamanote loop line between the hubs of Shinjuku and Ikebukuro, Takadanobaba, or “Baba,” as it’s affectionately known, is a mixed bag. At The Cantina, a watering hole just two minutes from the station’s Waseda Exit, you’ll find Tex-Mex fare, a crowd evenly split between university students, salarymen and expats, and a daily happy hour from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Whether it’s the hearty quesadillas, the excellent selection of bottled Mexican beers or the bevy of mouthwatering cocktails, The Cantina has something for everyone and is a great place to kick off an evening.
