Nagakute City, Aichi Prefecture
One of the largest automobile museums in Japan that exhibits not only Toyota cars but also automobiles from around the world.
The Toyota Automobile Museum showcases the world's automobiles and the history of automobile culture.
Automobile Gallery
At the Automobile Gallery, you can check the history of automobiles, from the birth of gasoline-powered automobiles at the end of the 19th century up to the present day, with about 140 representative vehicles from Japan, the United States and Europe. The exhibition is systematically organized around "passenger cars", which represent the freedom of movement, and almost all of the vehicles are "dynamically preserved" in such a way as to be movable.
Cultural Gallery
The "Automobile Culture Showroom" on the second floor of the Cultural Gallery exhibits about 4,000 cultural items related to automobiles, such as posters, car toys and car mascots, under the theme of "Mobility fosters culture". With about 800 miniature cars serving as a time axis, you can immerse yourself in the diverse automobile culture woven by people.
There is a restaurant and café inside, where you can enjoy a delicious lunch, coffee, etc.
In addition, the museum shop has a large selection of limited-edition goods only purchasable at this museum.
