Dating back to the 1600's and covering a wide variety of topics including folklore heroes, kabuki actors, beautiful landscapes, and even erotica in gorgeous illustration, ukiyo-e woodblock paintings are perhaps Japan's most iconic genre of art. Today ukiyo-e, which translates to "images of the floating world", has benefited from a revival in branding and as a style of modern artists, being used in David Bowie tributes, fashion lineups, and stunning fan art of Disney princesses and Sailor Moon.

Now a collaboration between the Tokyo National Museum and Hint Mints is letting people freshen up their breath and artistic sense with elegant mint tins that feature some of the most celebrated ukiyo-e prints, each with a flavor inspired by the accompanying art.
