Natto is fermented soybeans and are one of the side dishes that represents Japanese dish along with rice and miso-soup!
They are very healthy, too! But… stinky!!! Some people love the peculiar smell but some people hate it. It is a very controversial food even among Japanese people.
Can you eat “natto”? Let me show you how to eat it!
All you need is a pair of chopsticks.
First, open the lid and put mustard and soy sauce (attached to natto) for as much as you like.
…then, keep mixing them up till you get your favorite level of stickiness! haha
20 times…
50 times…
And... 100 times!!!
The way to eat is just pouring them onto a bowl of rice!
The odor and looking may disgust you for the first time, but it is surely a healthy, popular, and “delicious” food among Japanese. They are sold at supermarkets and convenience stores, anywhere in Japan.
Come visit Japan and try some :)
