Osaka Monorail connects Osaka International (Itami) Airport to the city and is used by many tourists. In collaboration with local governments across Japan, we run the Sake Train where you can enjoy bento boxes made with local sake and specialty products from each region. We would like to introduce the contents of the Sake Train, which runs for about 2 hours and allows you to fully enjoy the charm of the region in Osaka.

Let's take a ride on the Sake Train and see its charm and experience.
You can enjoy the Sake Train for 6,000 yen (tax included)

▲The local sake and bento boxes served on the Sake Train, and the sake "Monozou" on the left in the back, are original to Osaka Monorail.

You can fully enjoy Japanese food culture on the Sake Train! The monorail departs with a shout from the chairperson of the ceremony and a toast from all passengers with the signal of 「All Aboard.」 You can enjoy several types of local sake (local beer, wine, whiskey, etc. changes depending on the event) lined up on a special table inside the train, as well as a bento box using local specialties.

The most exciting moment on the Sake Train... Rock-paper-scissors tournament

A rock-paper-scissors tournament for all 130 passengers on the four-car monorail. Everyone plays rock-paper-scissors at the same time as the chairperson shouts. This is the most exciting moment when everyone on board gets a little drunk and feels good. The winners who survive until the end will win prizes such as specialty products and local sake.

▲At the end, you can purchase the local sake served on the "Cherry Blossom Viewing Train" at the event venue inside the station.

The Sake Train, which started in July last year in collaboration with local governments, has already been held eight times, including Hiroshima and Hida Takayama. The appeal is that in addition to enjoying the food, you can also experience the tourist spots and traditional culture of each region by watching local traditional performing arts and live show.

Message to guests visiting Japan
The number one appeal of the Sake Train is that people who don't know each other can become friends in about two hours, regardless of nationality, gender, or age, and enjoy drinking and socializing. Approximately 40% of the passengers are regulars who have become friends on the Sake Train. The second thing is that you can enjoy Japanese culture and events. Inside the train, we introduce the attractions, culture, and specialty products of each region's tourist spots. At the event, you can enjoy live shows, rock-paper-scissors tournaments, and games created by regulars.
We are planning to operate a chartered train for guests visiting Japan from this fall, so please look forward to it.
