Kyushu Island is a popular tourist spot with delicious foods, rich in nature and hot springs. The express train 「Kanpachi Ichiroku」 has started, connecting Hakata and Hot Spring towns of Beppu and Yufuin through a relaxed 5-hour train ride. This is an unprecedentedly luxurious express train where you can enjoy Japanese and Western cuisine prepared by famous chef on board, and you will be greeted by locals at stations along the way and you can also purchase specialty products.
Introducing the hospitality offered by the express train!
■The interior of the three-car train is designed based on the image of a towns along the railway line, providing a relaxing atmosphere.
▲Car No.1 has comfortable seats, next to the windows 24 artworks about culture, natures and traditions along the railway line are displayed.
Car No. 1 has spacious red sofa seats that are reminiscent to Beppu and Oita's volcanoes and hot springs, and private rooms are tatami matted. Car No. 2 is a lounge with a counter made of approximately 8-meter-long, approximately 250 year-old single cedar wood. Car No. 3 has a calm blue-green box seats and private tatami rooms the are reminiscent to Fukuoka, Chikugo Plains and majestic mountains along the railway lines.
▲Car No. 2 has large window where you can see views of the area along the railway line, it also serves a buffet selling delicious foods from the area.
■Treat yourself with a meal menu created by a chef from a famous restaurant, which changes according to the place of departure and the day of the week.

Japanese, Italian and French menus are made with carefully selected ingredients from Fukuoka and Oita are offered, changes depending on the day and place of departure. Because the ingredients used are from towns along the route, you can imagine the town while eating and will make you want to travel.

We recommend the 「Yatsushika Brewery Gift Set」 an original bottle set from Yatsushika Sake Brewery, that has been established 160 years ago. Other products include 「Whole-squeezed pear juice from a fruit farmer」 and the 「3 Kinds of Assorted Shinkawa Seicha Tea,」 a set of three types of tea.

■You can interact with the locals and purchase specialty goods along the route at the 「Omotenashi Station」

A stop along the way at the 「Omotenashi Station」, you will be able to interact with locals, take commemorative photos, and purchase local specialty goods. The photo shows Tanushimaru Station, a unique station with a kappa-shaped station building.
