Japanese precision casting manufacturer Castem Corporation has been creating a high-precision series of miniature tools that function just like their normal-sized counterparts. For example, they created a miniature toolbox featuring diminutive wrenches, pliers, and more.

Since the numbers 8 (ha) and 3 (mi) in Japanese are reminiscent of the word for scissors, 鋏 hasami, August 3rd is known as Scissors Day in Japan. To commemorate the occasion, Castem released a new series today focusing on an industry in which scissors are indispensable: hairdressing.

"mimic: Beauty Salon" includes three hairdressing tools that can really cut and comb hair. The series is available on Castem's Rakuten store here.

These tools are faithful reproductions of real hairdressing tools: hairdressing shears, blending shears, and a haircutting comb, each one measuring a mere 26 millimeters (barely one inch).

According to the press release, "with their detailed and precise manufacturing, the scissors move just like the real thing, so you can really cut and comb hair" with this set.
