Japan may not have traditionally celebrated Christmas, but the gift giving season has rapidly risen to become a beloved part of the festive calendar inspiring in the process a whole host of new traditions that are distinct to Japan. For Nihombashi Mitsukoshi our festive countdown began in earnest from November 15th and takes us right through to Christmas Day.

Right from Nihombashi Bridge, especially at night, you can't miss the sight of the twin towering Christmas trees that stand tall outside the Annex, each year decorated in a different style to match the theme that year. From there the windows of the store are a framed picture drawing people far and wide to take in the story that continues right into the store, where wherever you look there is something to get you in the festive spirit.
