“Sailor Moon Eternal” films collaborate with Bandai and JINS on themed eyewear for adults

As the highly anticipated return of the Sailor Moon franchise to the big screen, the two-part “Sailor Moon Eternal” is scheduled to hit Japanese movie theaters on January 8th and February 11th, 2021.

Today has been a big news day relating to the film. First, it was announced that actress, comedian, and fashion designer Naomi Watanabe will voice the character Zirconia.

Second, Bandai and eyewear brand JINS announced they are collaborating on a line of eyewear inspired by the film. Although we don’t have any details about Zirconia to share with you here, we can tell you all about the eyewear since we received the press release!

Sailor Moon Eternal eyewear

This lineup includes six pairs of eyeglasses and related accessories in designs inspired by the characters in “Sailor Moon Eternal”. The glasses are models worn by the six characters in an original illustration drawn specifically for this unique collaboration. Each one is based on the JINS frames which are most suited to the character, with patterns, colorings, and decorative elements customized for each one.

In addition to the eyeglasses, and their matching cases, mini pouches, and eyeglass chains, the lineup also includes color print wipe cloths, and eyeglass stands featuring the original illustration. Each pair of glasses comes with an original case and a soft case studded with the character’s star mark.

The six characters featured are: “Super Sailor Moon (Usagi Tsukino)” “Super Sailor Chibi Moon (Chibiusa)” “Super Sailor Uranus (Haruka Tenou)” “Super Sailor Neptune (Michiru Kaiou)” “Super Sailor Pluto (Setsuna Meiou)” “Super Sailor Saturn (Hotaru Tomoe).”
