Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine is a popular shrine Saitama prefecture. It has been a shrine for Enmusubi since 1500 years ago. Enmusubi means uniting in a relationship, that is finding a good partner. People wishing for a good love match visit Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine.
I participated in a special summer event called “Enmusubi-fuurin festival” which is held once a year in Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine. This year, the event is held from July 1th (Sat) to September 10th (Sun).
Fuurin is one of the symbols of summer in Japan. Here visiters hang the fuurins to wish for good luck in finding a partner. These girls visiting the shrine wearing traditional Japanese clothing are so beautiful.
Finally, don’t forget to catch a Red Snapper Omikuji (a fortune),“ichinen antai omikuji”. In Japanese it means "one-year of peace”.
