A short walk from Iidabashi Station is the wonderfully named Hop Scotch, a cozy standing bar that specializes in craft beer and whiskey, in addition to having excellent food. The on-tap selection is always fluid and a healthy stock of bottled brews provides backup. The whisky collection is small but eclectic, starting at affordable and going up from there. As far as fare, the gyoza are large and not-to-be-missed, while the Reuben sandwich is a grand slam in no uncertain terms, just the thing for soaking up some of the harder-hitting tipples.
