Do you know the “Dinosaur Kingdom” in Japan? It is the place I want to show you today. The largest dinosaur excavation site in Japan is located in Fukui. When you arrived at the Fukui station, you will see the huge model of dinosaur. How about getting closer to the dinosaur to take pictures? Then, you will find something surprise you.

It takes you only 5 minutes walking to Shinsakae Shopping Street from the Fukui station. Try to enjoy the atmosphere there. It is a place which is full of art, surrounded by love and happiness. People here are so kind and gentle.

Beauty of art

At the beginning of the shopping street, you will be amazed by the modern shop called “Rana Niña”. It sells underwear. Fukui has been known for the textile industry since around the 1870s. The items, “ila chica”, are all made in Fukui from the design to the sewing. Some of them are designed by the students. The texture is comfortable just like swimwear, so it suits people who like to sport or dance. How about buying some as souvenirs to your friends? It also has couple set here.

As you can see in the pictures, people beautified the wall of Shinsakae Shopping Street. In addition, the opening space, Shinsakae Terrace, is also a place relaxes you. Sometimes there are some events that you can join.

“Mamas” is the appealing shop selling little interesting items. The most special ones are the key holders or the necklaces which are made by the material of eye glasses. It is light and easy to bring back to home as souvenirs. Most of all, they are all hand-polished.

Beauty of people

It is a restaurant selling Chinese food with a red door curtain. It has the longest history in the shopping street. The most famous menu here is the Chukasoba, “which means Chinese noodles”. If you would like to taste a lot of chashu (pork), juicy not greasy, I recommend this one in the picture－chashumen. You can see the thick meat in front of you and they will fulfill not only your stomach but also your heart.

It is a cat café that you are able to have fun with kitties. After having the interaction with kitties, you heart will be heat by them. The owner is so nice that she will give you a unique key holder she handmade on her own. You may think it is easy to make one by yourself, but what I would like to tell you is that she really spent plenty of time and try her best in order to give every visitor the supreme service and the quality.

It is “happy cheese”. The 5 pieces of cheese in the picture is a 1000 yen set. The each one has totally different flavor, and the one I love best is the “geitost”. It has strong smell, tasting like caramel, and I think it is fabulous that eating it with coffee. There are a variety of cheeses in the store. The owner is so friendly that she will let you try some for free.

It is an interesting store that the women over 65 around the area of the Shinsakae Shopping Street will get together in the store and have a conversation. Also, they make the purses or other items by themselves to sell in the store. Each one of the items is so one of a kind and you can feel the love from the energetic women.

Have you heard “Oichinokata” before? She is one of being sacrificed in the “Shibatajinja”(shrine). As “Odanobunaga”’s sister, she is brilliant and has classy face. It is a place that you can make a wish to be lovely. The people in the Shinsakae Shopping Street want to help not only the people living here but also visitors to be more beautiful, so they opened some massage stores.
