Shu Uemura's new beauty boutique opened last year in Omotesando. With a jet-black "makeup box" theme, it is like a jewelry box filled with the joy of makeup and limited edition goods. At the Shu Tokyo Makeup Box, you can experience the originality of Shu Uemura with all your senses, freely pick up high-quality limited edition goods, and have fun while experiencing your own personal makeup.

Focusing on experiences, a new endeavor that you won't find in other stores, is that you can also learn about the history of Shu Uemura.

4 special experiences in 4 different rooms

Inside the store, there are 4 rooms, "Iro (color), Shou (makeup), Shu and Raku (fun)," where you can have special experiences that can only be experienced there.

Let's have a look at each of the rooms.

Iro (Pigment Atelier): Create your own favorite color from about 1,000 color patterns

Choosing and buying your own favorite color is fun, but it is even more fun to make your own color pigment from scratch. After choosing your favorite color at the digital table on the first floor, you can go to the Pigment Atelier Room on the second floor to make your own original color pigment under the guidance of a makeup artist.

◇Reservation required ・ Fee: (30 min) 7,150 yen (only one color can be created - tax included)

▲You can create your own color in the Pigment Atelier Room

■Shou (3D Styling Atelier): Experience a makeup lesson by using Shu Uemura's products

A makeup artist will teach you how to make the most of the shape and features of your face by utilizing know-how and 3D techniques in a one-on-one setting. It's also a great way to learn about natural, three-dimensional makeup that you might not have noticed before.

◇Lesson fee (60 min) 8,800 yen (tax included) *Prices vary by lesson.

Enjoy your makeup lesson as if you were the star of a movie!

■Raku (Shu Selfie): Take home a fun experience!
You can take pictures with limited edition frames and animated images to remember your visit. This is a great service that allows you to take photos in a studio-like room with special lighting, and you can take the images home and share them easily with your friends and family via SNS.

Shu (Shu Uemura's Room): Learn about the life of the brand's founder, Shu Uemura
By scanning the QR codes on the colorful walls with your smartphone, you can learn about the legacy, the identity as an artist, and the philosophy of the brand's founder, Shu Uemura.

▲In the center of the room, a replica of the make-up box given to Shu Uemura by Hollywood star Frank Sinatra is exhibited.

■Limited Products
There are also goods and items treasuring Japanese tradition that may only be purchased here.

■Kokeshi dolls are very cute and popular among young people

Kokeshi dolls are traditional dolls from the Tohoku region of Japan,
they are handcrafted from high quality wood and are a symbol of craftsmanship. The character "Shu" of Shu Uemura is written on the body of the kokeshi doll in collaboration with a female calligraphy artist. The body of this product is a modern fusion of Japanese tradition and artistry.
