Traditional Crafts Aoyama Square

This is an exhibition of Yoku Aso, who pursues highly complete manufacturing rather than complex decoration. There will be works that are easy to use and match for daily life, such as accessories with motifs of familiar natural forms.

Higo inlay was used to decorate guns and sword guards, but since the abolition of the sword in 9th year of the Meiji era (1876), it has changed to accessories and ornaments to suit today's lifestyle. Have a look at the traditional techniques that inherit the aesthetics of the samurai family.
