Keio Department Store's most popular event "Ekiben & Japanese Local Gourmet Fair" will be held again this year! At this 2-week event, you can enjoy Japanese gourmet from various regions through "ekiben" (train station lunch)!

What's Ekiben?
If you've been to Japan before several times, you might already be familiar with ekiben or even have tried some before. But here, let me explain a bit about ekiben. Ekiben are Japanese lunch boxes sold at train stations across Japan. Local ingredients and specialties are packed inside these lunch boxes and sometimes the containers reflect regional festivals and traditional crafts. With ekiben, you can enjoy both local flavor and tradition. Ekiben is a truly unique part of Japanese food culture♪♬

What's Keio's Ekiben Fair?
Since the very first Ekiben Fair in 1966, this food event has been loved by our customers and has been held every year. Year 2022's event will be our 57th time! Approximately 300 different ekiben will gather at this event! Of course our customers vising the event are all excited but so are workers at Keio!

These ekiben are classified into 2 groups: "Made-at-the-spot Ekiben" and "Shipped Ekiben".

"Made-at-the-spot Ekiben" are actually made and sold at our Event Space on 7th floor. It's really fun watching meats and seafood being cooked and all the ingredients being packed neatly into the lunch boxes!

The other "Shipped Ekiben" are delivered to our store before opening time via air and land transportation. So many varieties that it's so hard to choose! These shipped ekiben are available at 4F Special Event Space and 7F Event Space.
