Yukata is one of the traditional japanese costumes, and itsbeginning is more than 1,000 years ago. It was a costume that was used habitually by common people during the Edo era (1603 – 1868).
Nowadays, it became one of the items that is popular among foreign tourists in Japan, and a lot of foreigners in yukatas can be seen at sumer festivals or fireworks events.
In June, many stores starts to sell yukatas.
