Promoting the penetration of
J-QUALITY in the domestic market
The J-QUALITY Product Certification Program, a system for certifying products genuinely made in Japan, was launched in February 2015. This year marks its third year in operation. The program is applicable to products that have undergone the three processes of weaving and knitting, dye finishing, and sewing in Japan. It aims to publicize widely to the market the artisanal skills and superb aesthetic sense that underpin the Made in Japan quality that is held in high regarded around the world. Many companies and products have already been certified in the past two years.
The First J-QUALITY Awards was held in October last year. The 100nen Coat was presented with the inaugural Grand Prix during this ceremony. This year and moving forward into the future, promotion efforts will be strengthened in order to further improve penetration in the domestic market, and there are plans to organize events such as talk shows at retail storefronts including department stores, as well as exhibitions of certified products.
