Located at the foot of Koya, "Hometown of the stars" Kamataki Yakushi Kongo Temple has long been called the "Eye pharmacist" of Kamino, Wakayama Prefecture.
The guardian Buddha of the eyes "Yakushi Nyorai" has been in the main shrine and used to be revealed to the general public only once in fifty years.
Nowadays, people with eye illnesses and anxiety from all over Japan visit the temple everyday throughout the year to pray for eye relief.
