Experience the beauty of traditional Japanese dance!
“Nihon buyo” or traditional Japanese dance is one of Japan’s performing arts. Performed on stage to dramatic music, performers glide across the stage with quiet feet and calm movements.
Experience the highlight of this art where the outward expression of inner beauty subtly come together in this graceful performance on stage.

◆Yamamura Wakahayashi Profile◆
Began as an understudy to the great Yamamura Wakasaki who received the Award of the Minster of Culture. He later received his stage title “Wakahayashi” from the family head Yamamura Tomogoro the Sixth.
Having featured in all performances starring his mentor Wakasaki, Wakahayashi has broadened his scope of activities to performances outside of the Kansai area to Tokyo and even overseas. These include performances for the Japanese Classical Dance Association as well as performances at the National Theatre of Japan and in Italy (Venice, Rome and Bologna). He has also won numerous awards such as the New Performer of the Year at the Naniwa Arts Festival, both the Osaka Governor’s Award and Osaka Mayor’s Award and the Sakuya Konohana Award and others. He is an active member of the Japanese Classical Dance Association.
Wakahayashi continues to train tirelessly, mainly as an actor of female roles, in order to succeed the legacy of the Yamamura family’s teachings.
