Planning a visit to Tokyo in mid-January?? Then don't miss out Keio's all time favorite & most popular event "Ekiben Festival" that has been held every year for over 50 years!!
By the way, what is "EKIBEN"?? Ekiben are lunch boxes sold at railway stations across Japan. However, they're not just simple lunch boxes... Ekiben has always been an important part of Japanese food culture.
Because Japan is so full of magnificent natural scenery, Japanese people have always enjoyed railway trips. And eating Ekiben, usually filled with special ingredient from that particular region, is one of the funnest and most exciting part during these trips.
At Keio's Ekiben Festival, we gather over 300 different kinds of these Ekiben from seafood to meat, and ekibens featuring Japanese cartoon characters and unique containers!!
Come taste and experience Japan's unique food culture at Keio!!
